What is there to do for young children?
Your children will have a great time on Quinta da Encavalada. There is a lot to discover and play on the property of 3,5 hectares. Due to the walls and fences it is a safe place to play for your children. There is enough material for children to build their own huts and of course there is the swimming pool on the property. In the area there are two very good riding schools where they can learn the skills of riding a horse. For canoing, abseilen and other mountain sports we recommend to visit the website of Rock & River.

Are pets welcome?
Yes, during all seasons but only by being discussed in advance when making a booking. We do not want animals to be a nuisance for other guests and it is a strict requirement that animals are well trained and dogs are on a leash when neceaasary or requisted by the hosts. Also we do not allow animals around the communal spaces like the swimming pool.

Do you supply breakfast or lunch?
No!  It is not our choice to be a B&B or an Hotel which is why the villas are self catering. Also, Martijn and Marry Jantien regularly host communal meals in  their own house for which you can book if you wish to join them. In Oliveira do Hospital (approx 4 km away) there are several large, well stocked supermarkets en some good restaurants.

Can we also “over winter” at Quinta da Envalada?
Yes, both houses are well insulated, have excellent heating and are suitable for “over wintering” or a long stay in autumn or spring.
